Edward VI Henry the Eighth’s  son reigned from 1547to1553, only ,dying very young ,he was 10 when Henry VIII died.
Sixteen when he died.
There have been some mix ups in this topic regarding regnal numbers etc and consorts , not easy to remember if you are not really interested in the monarchy over the centuries ,did not do history at school or  live abroad so not British , so no blame apportioned

If it's me some of it is typos too Viktoria and trying to touch type  on a computer
I sometimes modify when I reread typos

Yes I'm talking about Edward 8 the abductor
*Abdicator haha😂 this is why i hate it when my paragraphs are copied before goid eyes can look overvwhat i wrote😭🧐😄
+ Yes you guessed I was never very interested in monarchy or history tho love it now and hope I'm passing the interest forward to younger generation s

Finding monarchs heads on the foreign stamps and learning old names for countries

Has Sierra Leone  always been that ? Congo used to be Belgian Congo

Lots. To learn on this project

Poor Edward - "Abductor"    ;D ;D :-X :-X

I believe that Sierra Leone has always been known under that name - but I could be wrong.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Has Sierra Leone  always been that ? Congo used to be Belgian Congo

Originally named Serra Leoa (Portuguese for 'lioness mountains') by Portuguese explorer Pedro de Sintra in 1462, the modern name is derived from the Italian spelling, which was introduced by Venetian explorer Alvise Cadamosto and subsequently copied by other European mapmakers.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) also known as Congo-Kinshasa, formerly Zaire.
Originally Congo Free State, In 1908, King Leopold of Belgium, despite his initial reluctance, ceded the so-called Free State to Belgium, thus it became known as the Belgian Congo.

Not to be confused with the Republic of the Congo also known as Congo-Brazzaville, previously French Congo.

That's what comes of learning history by reading "1066 and All That".  ;D The important question is:
Was he a Good King or a Bad King? Answers on a single sheet of paper. Marks will be subtracted for ink blots.

My apologies - my friends always said that they could see the "red pen" when they wrote to me.  I failed O level English language twice!  Plus English Literature and Latin - but only once.   :-X

In my humble very biased opinion - someone ought to have abducted him!
The pathetic little squirt!
We got the better man ,so hats off to Wallis!
Gosh what a miserable life those two led each other seemingly.

I’ll bet sixpence each way (is each way in case a horse runs the wrong way round the circular course but still comes in first?) he never thought his abdication would be accepted.!
My predictive text has just given me abduction- ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
