Oldfield family

Hi

Trying to find oldfields on my mum's side the earliest I can find is Thomas Oldfield born around 1719 in Yorkshire who seems to have married an Elizabeth swift but can't seem to find any earlier. Any help in the right direction would be great.

Presume you are satisfied you have the right Thomas & Elizabeth Oldfield?  Where did you get her maiden name from?

Born where in Yorkshire?  What proof do you have he was actually born there rather than just lived there?

FS has 2 entries in a similar time frame - 1719 Hooton Pagnell & 1716 Emley

All I've got on family search is son John Oldfield christened 30 jul 1775 brodsworth, Yorkshire to Tomas Oldfield and Elizabeth swift but have no marriage info

So if Thomas was b 1719 as you say & son John 1775 - he would have been around 57.  Elizabeth would have had to be considerably younger

How have you determined that this particular John Oldfield is your wife's ancestor?  The 1841 has 3 entries for that name in that timescale - assuming he was still alive in 1841
