Help to identify this sailor
« on: Tuesday 20 July 21 02:06 BST (UK) »
Amongst some very old family photos is this unknown young man in his uniform, simply labelled "Jack".  It could have been taken in Guernsey.
Could anyone please identify the uniform and likely date?

TIA

He isn't a sailor but a member of the Royal Guernsey Militia.  His broderick cap suggests a time frame of 1902 to 1907.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Guernsey_Militia

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
