Photo of long gone Liverpool pub
« on: Wednesday 21 July 21 23:16 BST (UK) »
Following the recent death of one of our oldest friends we are anxious to locate any photo of the pub in which we (mis-)spent so many hours of our student life between 1964-1967. Does anyone have such a snap of the Abercromby Vaults which stood at 130 Mount Pleasant Liverpool, just opposite the entrance to the Roman Catholic Cathedral?

There's a photo in the Liverpool University archives: https://sca-archives.liverpool.ac.uk/Record/121536/HierarchyTree#tabnav

Shaun,

Thank you for the response. I had identified the University archive as a resource and discovered, as you may have, that the archive is not viewable online. Currently the archive viewing facilities are subject to Covid-19 restrictions and some reservations are restricted to 48 hour applications. I shall consider visiting at some later time.

Regards

Though a very quick look did not find any images of the pub, this is a good site for anything Liverpool and may be of some use:

There's one on PininterstPinterest.

Thank you. I had located this one from 1965 which sits within the time of my patronage  :) The construction of the Roman Catholic Cathedral explains the crane located to the left of the picture. I have also located a Pathe News video of the Consecration of the Cathedral which shows the upper relief of the pub in passing but, sadly, nothing showing the full frontal relief.
