I managed to walk through the two areas where all the Richards and Williams are buried at Bendigo. I did not find any headstones for you. Over half of the graves do not have any markers at all,. so that is one avenue to exclude.
As an aside, it is right that you are researching Cronin. I have some wedding photos taken in Bendigo area related to Cronin covering three generations and cannot find an owner. Is your Cronin family connected to the central Victoria, Bendigo area ?

A copy of James Henry Richards birth certificate ($20 for an uncertified copy) would be informative,
I have my grandmother's birth in 1878, it gives date and place of birth as well as both parents including maiden name, where they were born, where and when they married and how long they had been in the colony

Thank you for trying, urnert, I do appreciate it.  In your experience are Bendigo records accurate? I ask because twins born to Rebecca Richards, was Harry, nee Williams in 1876 died within months but are not in the burial records.

As far as Cronins go, I am first generation Australian, and all my relatives are in Ireland. I'd love someone to have old family pics as they are very few and far between in that line - as to are records.

I went and purchased the birth cert and it says James Richards father was 25 and born, not on a voyage from Wales, as per his marriage cert but Glamorganshire, Wales, which is where we knew the parents were from.  There is no mention as to how long he had been in the colony.

By any chance did the BC say WHERE the parents were married? If so I could have another lead to follow.

James Henry Richard's parents James Richards and Rebecca Harry Nee Williams were married 19th March 1878 in Eaglehawk.  On that marriage cert, it says James Richards was born on the voyage from Wales, on his son's birth cert, it says he was born in Glamorganshire.

I hope I am not being a nuisance, but does it say which church? I helped someone else last year and they had the original church record checked and found extra details. Apparently the law required the churches to submit marriage records and sometimes they only supplied the basic details required by law.

The certificate contains the following details:
Marriage solomised in Eaglehawk by Robert (can't read surname) registered minister,
Marriage by license according to the form of the Presbyterian Church

A quick Google search (because Eaglehawk is small) and this is the church

It identifies the minister of the day as Robert Lewers.

had no luck with any more detail of marriage in 1878, but had a bit of a look at the family. you may already have most of this. excuse poor typing done in rush.
If William John HARRY died in 1874 and Rebecca did not remarry till 1878 have you considered the name of the father of Edith Emily died 1876 aged 3wks, Mary Ann died 1876 aged 3wks and Edith Mary died 1878 aged 6wks when Rebecca second marriage was in March 1878.

Sadly in regards to baby deaths - in general it was a common practice to bury them in common ground set aside for babies.
