Family Burials
« on: Friday 23 July 21 23:14 BST (UK) »
I've managed to get a few of my direct ancestor's burial locations from FindaGrave and Bellingham Cemetery Grave Plans 1896-1994. Northumberland has not been kind to me with burial records, I'm having far better success in Warwickshire.

If someone could search their parish registers for evidence of the following burials that would be much appreciated. Even if someone could point me in the right direction, it would be helpful:
  • Joseph Hall - (1826-1878) Burial location: Likely Bellingham as that's where he died
  • May Ann Hall - (1831-1895(?)) Burial location: Same as the above
  • Michael Brown (1797(?)-?) Burial location: Really unsure; I don't know much about Michael Brown, other than he definitely Margery Martinson's father, his daughter is buried in Bellingham
  • Ann Brown - (1801-1861) Burial location: Possibly Bellingham as she died 8 Feb 1861 in nearby Charlton
  • Gabriel Hall - (1793-1865(?)) Burial location: Possibly Elsdon; unsure on dates of death due to not finding them in 1841/1851 census
  • Margaret Hall - (1794-1868(?)) Burial location: Same as the above
  • Thomas Waitt - (1793-1879(?)) Burial location: Possibly Hexham, in 1871 census he is a servant in Sandhoe
  • Hannah Waitt - (1794-1872(?)) Burial location: Possibly Hexham or Bellingham

Many thanks

Hi Jon, this will almost certainly be both Waitt's I'm looking for. Right age, right location, right time. In the 1871 census it also lists Thomas Waitt in the ecclesiastical parish of St John Lee.

This is most likely the Gabriel I'm after as Margaret is head in the 1851 and 1861 census. As it's a GRO I might request the record to be sure and to find out some further information (hopefully) but this is looking very promising. Thank you.

Hi Jon

Just to update you, I submitted a GRO for the death on this one. Looks like this is the Gabriel I was after; Margaret Hall was present at the death. He was a farmer and the right age. Died of consumption. Great to see you've found the burial too. That's half the list you've found! Awesome work.

Many thanks

Hi
That's very good news. Thanks for letting us know.
Interesting that there were two Gabriel Halls from Elsdon! Wonder if they were related.

Yes, the others defeated me! Hopefully someone will come up with some info for you.
Jon
