bound for Australia
SHIP Orsova, Orient line

I can't find anymore out e.g. did he pay? where did he disembark? Where did he go to?

Also he nominated his wife violet evemy dale

It appears that they settled in Kedron

Looking at newspaper mentions, Reginald seems to have been somewhat accident prone

There is a tree on ancestry , owner Anthony Peter Dale who has this family information,

Alfred James Dale
birth 23 July 1879 Helsley Yorkshire
Dies 30 Dec 1943 Brisbane Quuensland

But they have a different arrival date for him on a different ship.
Alfred Dale, occupation Warehouseman
Nationality English
Arrival Age32 Birth date 1881
Departed Liverpool
Arrived 16 March 1913 Arrival Brisbane, Australia
Ship Dorset

They have the same details as you for his wife and children
Violet died in 1964
Fred 1943
Frank 1967
Helen Margaret (Pinkie) 1978
Reginald 1959
Tony 1917 - 1996
James 1920 - 1975

It has a lot of information and is well sourced. All the family appear to have stayed around the Brisbane area.

There are 34 trees on Ancestry for this family.

"Tim" who was killed in Burma in 1943 was Fred.

This is not the correct person.  Janice's Alfred was a 33 year old Draper and as she said, he departed London on the Orsova on 2 Aug 1912.

There is a fairly detailed account of the voyage here.

Greetings all, can I add another question please? How do I find out what Alfred was doing from 1901 to 1911. Alfred went from being a draper's assistant to warehouseman back to draper??? On the MC with Violet Evemy Brown in 1904 Alfred identifies as warehouseman and that just doesn't make sense? many thanks in advance. Jenny (ps I prefer Jenny)

On the electoral roll listings for Alfred and Violet DALE in Qld which appear from about 1915 onwards, his occupation is draper.
I do not see a huge discrepancy in the two occupations-draper and warehouseman.

Possibly the warehouse at which he was employed at marriage dealt in fabrics haberdashery etc.

Quite easy in that case to flip from one to the other.
