Hello there

This is my first post on here, so hope I get it right  :).  I have 2 photographs I am very curious about and have recently been sent. Photo 1, the couple wearing the flowers, I was originally told were my grandparents, Christopher and Emily (Booth) Gallagher, both born 1900. The 2nd photo I was told was potentially Christopher's parents, Patrick (born approx 1856) and Mary (born approx 1870) (Wignall) Gallagher.  However, the dates don't seem to add up and it looks like it might be the other way round. I have found out that the photo of the younger couple, both sat on the garden chair, was taken at Charles Howell photography studio in Blackpool (which did not open until 1913) and somebody has dated the photograph by clothing to be around the 1920's.

Also, the other photograph of the couple wearing flowers, the man looks as though he may have a military lapel badge / in (it looks like an aeroplane, but the photo is not good quality, so I can't tell). Does anybody have any idea of the name of the badge / pin.  Do the couple look like a man and his wife 14 years his junior, or a man and his daughter?

Could the women be the same in each photo? Also, the photograph taken in the studio, would you agree that the woman looks as though she may be pregnant?

So many questions  ;D

I would be so grateful for any help with regard to restoration and / or dating.

Thank you in advance

Carol

Hello & welcome
Just to save any confusion it's pic. 2 that has the corsages, this
is the earliest. I would suggest around 1912 & possibly into the war years.
The corsages indicate a wedding photo.
The badge looks like a Fleur-de-Lis.
She looks 25-30 & he looks a bit older but neither look old enough to be the
birth dates you suggest.
Pic. 1 is around mid 20's & possibly into the early 30's so ages match with a
couple born 1900 as they look about 25-30.
Obviously not the same woman & as these were both taken in a studio I'm not
sure which one you think is pregnant.

The woman in the second photo, with the corsage, does look pregnant.  The man looks a good few years older than the woman .

Add - 2nd photo - there could be 14 years difference in their ages.

Cazziej was told he was born 1856 & she was born 1870 which would
make him around mid 50's & her around 40.
They also look like they've just got married.

Regarding 2nd picture with man wearing flowers, in my opinion …
It seems more like father and daughter. She looks young, early twenties or even late teens, and he looks much older.
