Looking for Information on the Surname: Fleck
So far I have managed to get a little way down the line however I have come to a standstill.
All here are born in either South Shields or Durham;

Ronald Henry Fleck - 1896
Adam Fleck - 1859
Robert Fleck - 1838
Thomas Fleck - 1815
Willaim Fleck -

On the website I am using, some of the children of Robert and Thomas(his father) are overlapping which I am also confused about xD

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you need any more info, Marriage, Deaths etc. lmk

Fleck

Thanks CaroleW,

Sorry, I did not mention it but I have most info on the names I have listed. It is William Fleck that I would love to find info on, not sure how far the Census go back though.

Sorry again for the confusion first time here :)

Have you seen the website DurhamRecordsOnline? That could potentially be useful.

Having a mother and daughter(in law) with overlapping children isn't uncommon, if the older woman was still of childbearing age when one of her older children married and started their own family. Sometimes though the children keep going for a suspiciously long time and something starts to smell, leading to the suspicion of hidden illegitimate grandchildren, two marriages to women of the same name or a woman being very young at marriage (one of mine was around 15 years old!)

-Edit- the earliest census of use is the 1841. Birth, marriage and death certificates start in late 1837. William may potentially have been alive on the census or died after this date. One can hope.

How have you established that William was the father of Thomas?

If Thomas was born 1815 then William was born anytime between the 1780's - 1795.  Have you found William on the 1841 census which is the earliest available?

If the marriage I see is the correct one, William is named as the father on Thomas' marriage cert. However, I can't see the image to see what the occupation box says.

Yes I have gotten the fathers name from the Marriage cert of Thomas Fleck and Ann Pickering from 1848

So the marriage was in 1848 but Robert was born in 1838?

There are 2 Robert Fleck's on the 1841 census - neither have a father called Thomas
