Very hands on and quite specific and similar style of work.   I am wondering too if Thomas is the father of all these children, as the baptism dates work well chronologically.  Ralph 1708; Richard 1710; Jane 1713; John 1715; Samuel 1717; James 1720 and Henry 1723.
I couldn't find a marriage at this stage.  That's the next step for me.

Just a thought from humble ol me.
Maybe the marriage of Thomas Bell (from Farnworth) to Elisabeth Nichols (from Leverpool) on 24 November 1713 at St Peter Liverpool - was he a widow.  Maybe his first wife died and he married soon afterwards to Elisabeth Nichols?
Is there any way of finding out if he was a widower?

Images available on Ancestry for St Peter, Liverpool.  There is NO marriage on 24 November 1713 - nothing between 16 November (William Mather) and 8 December (Henery Whelsh).

Unless, of course, there is another church in Liverpool named St Peter.  :-\

A thought. What proportion of buildings in Liverpool had a slate roof 300 years ago? Did demand for slaters increase with prosperity of the city - new buildings or existing buildings re-roofed with slate?
