Thurman Warriner, 1904-1974
« on: Friday 30 July 21 09:44 BST (UK) »
I have been asked if I can confirm the death of this crime writer who was born in Sheffield in 1904 and was still living there on 1939 Register. The date 1974 for his death appears on several sites on the internet, but never with a location or source, and no death record appears on Ancestry, Findmypast, Scottish People, or Family Search. And nothing on the BNA.
I asssume he moved abroad after WW2, AS there also seems to be no record  for his wife, the former Kathleen M Bush who has a birth date of 23/11/1914 on the Register, but no corresponding birth in the GRO Births. Born outside UK ? A Kathleen Margaret Warriner, apparently born 23/3/1914, died 2000 in Devon, but again no Kathleen M Bush registered in the relevant quarter.
Can anyone come up with a source for his death. The 1974 came from somewhere, but from what source.

Thanks
John

Thurman Warriner was also known as Simon Troy or John Kersey.

1974 as a date of death is quoted on:

Those are among the several sites I mentioned. Like Ancestry trees, copying info from another site without checking the accuracy of the information.

There is a possible birth to the couple and a possible marriage for that person but names cannot be published due the likelihood of their being alive. They can be seen on Free BMD.

Not sure though because of the geography  ::)

Thanks for your thoughts but I think his death will remain unknown, the 1974 uncertain as no proof forthcoming. I have no idea who was the originator of the 1974, but shame on that site, if it was, for not giving a confirming source . As it seems the 1974 is believed because it is the only option, true or false.
