Report of marriage in 1783 in the Kentish Gazette 8 Feb 178£ says he is from Hollymount , Ireland.

On FindMyPast World records there is a tree which shows him to be the son of Francis Price and Charity Ford and  shows his death to be 1798...there is quite an extensive Family Tree there in the Thrift Genealogical Abstracts plus he appears to be mentioned in may other documents listed .

It's a bit of a pain. There are a number of treen on Ancestry that have his parents as Cromwell Price and Mary Willoughby and all sorts of inconsistencies.

Thank you kindly, Keith

Not sure if this will help:

Dublin Evening Mai-l 9 June 1847- report of death of Nicholas Price Esq , age 97. Also refers to Cromwell Price of Hollymount who died in 1798 and who was also born in 1750.

Belfast Newsletter says Nicholas was in his 93rd year.  92.  So b c 1755

There are reports in the 1798 papers of the French landing in Ireland and of General Lake having to retreat back to Hollymount with the loss of about 20 of his men.  So perhaps that is when Cromwell died?

This is great, it all goes towards building a profile of him. Since he was around in 1798, I'm wondering if he was involved in the Rising and on which side. And did he die in that Rising?
Thank you most kindly, Keith

Thanks be to all for the assistance. Further hunting using the supplied information and other stuff found a potted biography on the Ulster History web site. Turns out he was an MP and a captain in the Downshire Militia. He died (March 1798) before the 1798 Rising started (May 1798). The level of expertise on Rootschat never ceases to amaze me.
Once again, thanks, Keith
