Shettleston Old Parish Churchyard MIs
« on: Sunday 01 August 21 11:31 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone.

I was wondering if anyone had any information on a possible Memorial Inscriptions book or PDF for Shettleston Old Parish Churchyard. I'm pretty sure the Mitchell Library has a copy, but I'd quite like to buy one for myself if it is available. I also saw that the book exists online, but that it was currently out of stock.

Any help and information that people could give me would be appreciated.

Thanks,

David Gilmour

David, the old burial ground still exists across from the Kirkhoose pub but I don't know how many stones are extant, these sites should be of help,

Thanks for your help guys!

I've emailed The Family History Society to find out if they have a copy of:

https://www.gwsfhs.org.uk/collection/monumental-inscriptions-shettleston-parish-church-burial-ground/

I created one of the memorials on FindAGrave for someone on my family tree:

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/228947214/janet-gray

This is one of the reasons why I thought it might be useful to have a book of the MIs, to memorialise people in Shettleston.

I also emailed the Mitchell, but they're as useless as ever haha. They did tell me the book exists, but not how to get a copy of it.

Thanks again!

David ;)
