Good Morning all, hope you are all well. Having issues with my ancestor James Parsons bap. 18/4/1790 Shepton Montague Somerset, marriage to a Martha Osmond 29/3/1819 Shepton Montague, his death 26/3/1856 parish of Shepton Montague, abode Knowle Rock. I have found on some entries like Freereg, Ancestry, and FindMyPast, his father is a John or James Parsons marriage date unknown spouse a Repuntance surname unknown,his death date? 13/3/1825 Horsington, and her death date? 8/11/1802 Charlton Musgrove. going around in circles with this search.

Neither his marriage nor death would show a fathers name. 

If you have found his baptism - what are his parents names?

Did Martha pre-decease him as the only 1851 entry I can find shows birthplace Congesbury?

Freereg - 1790 baptism shows parents as James & Repentance.  Unless you have found him on the 1851 census - how do you know his birthyear & that he was b Shepton Montague?

Yes the Congresbury James is still alive with his Martha in 1871.

Where is your James in 1851 please?

There is an 1841 entry for a 55yr old James Parsons occ weaver living in the Wincanton RD which is where the 1856 death was registered but I think he died in 1847.  Appears to have a son George aged 25 living with him

No 1851 entry with a Shepton Montague birthplace

Good Morning CaroleW and Milliepede, I am connected to Mary Ann Parsons bap.30/3/1818 Wincanton she married a Henry Hockey on the 5/8/1845 St. Peter Shepton Montague her baptism shows father James and Martha Parsons. I have James Parsons baptism 18/4/1790 Shepton Montague parents John and Repentance Parsons. After Martha Parsons died in 1831 Shepton Montague Knowel Rock James remarried a Sarah Briant.

The 1851 entry shows he was b Knowle but was living in Shepton Montague
