Help, I have conflicting info on Great grandfather

I am tracing my grandmothers family and have come across 2 possible men who could be my great grandfather.
Question I am asking is: Is he Francis Henry Smith born in Nottingham in 1876, or Francis Henry Smith born in 1874 in Edmonton?

On my grandmothers birth certificate fathers name is Francis Henry Smith.
On confirmed documents I have (census), he states 'where born' Nottingham, listed as Frank Smith.
On the 1939 England Register he states birth as '6 June 1874'.
In the GRO register the only Francis Henry Smith born in Nottingham is born in 1876, M Quarter.
Another search for 1874 in GRO states one born in Edmonton, J Quarter.
He was married in Mansfield Nottingham.
On his Soldier's Record he states 'born in' Nottingham as well.
Any help to solve this mystery would be gratefully received.

First off, when and where was your grandmother born and what was her name?  What occupation is given for Francis on her birth certificate?

Have you found the family on an census records to see what occupation is given for Francis?

Have you found a record of Francis' marriage?

If you can provide some or all of the above information it may help to pin down the correct Francis.

There is a Frank Smith, 16, born Nottingham, Coal Miner, in Sutton in Ashfield in 1891
Parents George and Rose
Frank Henry's first daughter was Rose Mary.

If that Frank was 16 in 1881 that gives a birth year of 1865 +/-

Danison is giving us a birth date of 6.6.1874 for Francis
