F.A.N.Y.
« on: Wednesday 04 August 21 19:04 BST (UK) »
Hi Folks,

This time would appreciate your help in identifying uniform of a WW2 despatch motorcycle girl. We have been asked to identify bike but are puzzled by the uniform. Main suggestion has been Women's Transport Services of the First Aid Nursing Yoemanry, but the badge seems to be an X rather than a +. We know that the motorcycle is, in the vernacular, a Fanny Barnett. Somewhat of a coincidence? Trousers of the girls standing look a bit Land Army?

Thanks and Regards

Women's Transport Services, First Aid Nursing Yeomanry looks right to me. The badge (definitely a cross) is very distinctive.

Sorry Folks about the photo being removed. We had received it from elsewhere for identification of the motorcycle. I had not noticed the very faint watermark.
