Hi Boo,
It was my last nightshift so what the heck, I have called at the local studies.
I think I may have found Mary Jobling at St Peter, Wallsend.

Entry 1461
Mary Jobling
Abode: High Street West, Wallsend
Buried February 23 1876
Age 64
By A.R. (Stogdon?) Curate

No mention of a husband I'm afraid.  Is this the right one do you think?  Jon was certainly right about Wallsend. :)

Thanks RTL (go get some sleep!)

No idea but it does look likely to be the burial of the lady in the deaths index. Until I get the death register entry I have no idea if its the Mary Jobling I am looking for though.
Will report back next week when I get the pdf.

Boo

Take a bow jonw65 and RTL

Between you, you have found the correct burial record - Jon by doing very clever stuff with the page numbers on the death index and RTL for looking at the burial registers (instead of getting some sleep after a long shift, tch!)

The death register entry arrived today and yes , its the same lady :-)
EDIT, forgot to say she 'was' the widow of John Jobling and definitely the right couple as her brother registered her death so her maiden name and his surname being a match makes it all add up.

Many thanks to you both.

Boo

That's great that Mary Jobling is confirmed. :)  Have you managed to confirm John at Cowpen or is this a work in progress.
I wish I could help but I don't have access to those records.
Best Wishes with this though.

Thanks RTL

I think I have found a likely burial at Horton for John, 3 days after he died and it covers the right area, so its looking promising.
Will add it to my next order from Woodhorn to find out :-)
