My sincere condolences Zoe to you and your family.

He will be a great loss to your family and to Rootschat.  He was always so helpful to the many people with military queries, we will miss his generosity in sharing his knowledge.

It is 7.45 a.m. in New South Wales, Australia.  I have just read this sad news.

May Zoe and all of Max D's family be comforted in knowing just how far he shared his knowledge, always gently, always accurately, always humbly, and always giving kind words to the poster who was seeking assistance.

Vale Max D.

So sorry for your loss Zoe, I have benefitted many times from his help with Miltary matters to further my reasearch. He will leave a big whole on RootsChat but will be fondly remembered by all the  members. My condolences go to you and your Family and hope that you can take comfort in the knowledge that although sudden, his passing was peaceful.
RIP Max and thanks for all your help. 🌺 🌺
