Regretful notification of the passing of MaxD
« on: Sunday 08 August 21 20:37 BST (UK) »
Hello all,

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.
I know that my grandfather spent many an hour on this site and thoroughly enjoyed communicating with all of you that share his interest in the military! He would routinely update me with who he had helped or the new bits he had learnt from you all!

With deep sadness,
Zoe

This is such sad and unexpected news.  It is quite a shock to hear it.  Max helped me a few times with military side questions .. he was so knowledgeable and generous spirited in how he would so regularly come forward to help so many on here.  He was much respected and will be greatly missed.  Rest in peace, Max.

How very sad.
Max was a wonderful help to me when I was struggling to interpret my father’s army record.
He gave me an enormous amount of time and patiently answered all my questions.
He will be very much missed on Rootschat.

Dear Zoe,

Please accept my condolences.  Your grandfather was such a huge help to many RootsChatters.  He was very knowledgeable and gave so many people the benefit of his expertise.  And with such enthusiasm, kindness and courtesy.  He will be remembered with great affection here and greatly missed.

Nell
