I am still endeavouring to locate information on Elizabeth BAGGALEY (diff. spellings) b. c1827 Long Bennington, mother Mary BAGGALEY father unknwn..

I have tried to find information relating to the booklet "Lincolnshire Poor Law Index Part 8, Bastardy papers in the  Kesteven Quarter Sessions"

I did search on the Lincolnshire Archives, but was unsuccessful  >:(

According to Details and publications list on http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/lfhs (a link I am unable to find) - there are two references to Elizabeth BAGULEY in 1827, an Examination and a Recognisance. The Lincoln Archives refs. MD1827/180A&B and EA1827/9.

It would be great if anyone is able to locate this information for me, especially if it includes name of Elizabeth's father.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you KGarrad - that looks hopeful......
I wonder if anyone has ever accessed that sort of documentation to let me know whether it would be worthwhile....?

Barbara, from research into my Lincs family that I did some 20 years ago, I have many varied Lincs fiche. Two of these are Lincolnshire Poor Law Index Bastardy Documents Part 6, and Part 10.

Each entry appears to give name of mother, or name of putative father, [but not the two together], sex of child, year, parish, nature of document available and where. The actual documents themselves are not shown, neither does there seem to be an easy way to link selected entries together.

Note that I'm describing the fiche. Whether the information was updated or expanded for the CD-ROM I can't say. Sounds like a query for Lincs FHS.

Thanks for that information sugarbakers.
I've had look at Lincolnshire Family History Society - https://www.lincolnshirefhs.org.uk and sent them an enquiry as not sure what they have available and what might possibly be revealed.
I'll wait on their reply prior to ordering anything.
Regards
Barbara

There are indexes on the FHS site, listing what is available online, and what is available in printed form.
Take a look at the menus ;D

Thanks again HGarrad - I have had a look and am going to wait and see what information I might receive from Lincolnshire Family History Society as a guide to what would be the best option.
