I think it is Jim. I think all these Burn*s are part and parcel of the same place. All part of Westfield estate. Which was part of the original Quarrywood Parish, also known as Newspynie parish. Parish borders chopped and changed through the middle of Westfield Estate, with the result that parts of these properties fell under different parishes. Dykeside is another example of this.
Therefore William's first thought of Burnsfield/Westfield being the same place is probably correct.
