Marriage or not
« on: Friday 13 August 21 16:06 BST (UK) »
Hi

Looking for a marriage between a Thomas Sanders (Saunders) and an Ann Ryder (Rider).

If indeed they did marry, I guess that is was between 1843 (when Thomas's 1st wife, Ann nee Eaton), died, and 1848, when their first child, Mary (mmn 'Rider.'), was born.

The couple had another five known children; Emma, born during the September quarter of 1850, Eliza, baptised on the 1st January 1854, Jane, born during the September quarter of 1854, dying on the 23rd January 1855, Arthur, born during the December quarter of 1856, and Jane, born during the March quarter of 1859.
All the children were born within the Great Boughton RD and all had their mother's maiden name given as 'Ryder.'

The 1851 census finds the family living in Eaton Road, Chester, where Thomas was employed as a stone mason.
With them were Thomas' sons from his first marriage, George, William, Samuel and Alfred.

Thomas died on the 5th March 1861 and Ann can be found with all their children, plus Thomas's son, George, in Pepper Street, Chester.
She remarried on the 29th August 1861 to William Hunt; her marriage certificate confirms her maiden name as 'Rider', giving her father's name as Thomas Rider, a rock setter.

Can anyone find a marriage between her and Thomas Sanders (Saunders).?

Thanks
Sue
