Thanks Ian.. Norwegian naming is complicated.. there is a good explanation on the Norway Archives website

talking about a third name often being a farm. Seems then that perhaps our Borsum family kept the farm as their surname. I have found 6 siblings to our Hans Julius but no marriage for their parents Ole Borsum and Anne Louise (unknown) The first child was christened 1830 so I suppose they married a couple of years before that.

I have found 6 siblings to our Hans Julius but no marriage for their parents Ole Borsum and Anne Louise (unknown).

Her maiden name was Olsen according to Hans Julius' birth record.
