« on: Thursday 19 August 21 04:28 BST (UK) »
This is a photo taken in 1945/6 of my grandmother on the right and my grandfather's cousin on the left. She lived in Cabra West in Dublin.
My grandfather was James Leech.
Does anyone recognise her.

Unlikely but why might they be dressed identically? (...and how about the woman in the hat in the background between their heads?)

Also the lady on the right has a lapel badge. Maybe you could post a close up of it as it may give some clues.

The badge has quite an unusual shape. I was wondering if it might be a Women's Institute learner's badge? Difficult to say without seeing a better image, though. And I'm not sure the lady might not be a little too old to have been collecting learner's bars on her badge, but you never know.  ;D We are never too old to learn...

Here is a link to a website which sells badges. Scroll down to No. 10.

P.S. Can someone tell me how I can insert a hyperlink so that readers have to click on e.g. "click here" and the actual web address is not shown in the thread? I am obviously being a wee bit thick today...  ::)

Not sure that the “Maffia”, as a recently deceased friend of mine always referred to them (she was a member!), had a uniform.

Photo becomes too blurred when I tried to enlarge it. The lady is my grandmother Catherine Leach nee Dowdle and was born in Manchester.
The lady on the left is my grandfather's ( James Leech) cousin whom I am trying to trace. She lived in Cabra West around 1945. I have added a couple of extra photos.

Karen:

[ url=the actual web address] now the the words you want to actually post

There is NO SPACE between the first [ and url.  It's the only way to show you without it turning into a link. Don't forget the = sign!

So your above link would be, with the space :
[ url=https://www.sallybosleysbadgeshop.com/shop.php?c=263#prettyPhoto] Karen's Link
Taking out the space gives:
Karen's Link

You can also go to ‘Shrink Link’ at the bottom of this page - insert the url, shrink the link and copy the new one.

With reference to the lady, have you traced your grandfather’s cousins and tried to find her that way.
