Newcastle East End police yesterday appealed for witnesses to an accident over the weekend through which a ten year old boy later died.
After a car and a lorry collided at the junction of possaway? and Coutts road Newcastle, Ronald Jones of Salisbury Street, Byker, died in Newcastle general hospital from head injuries.
With him in the car driven by his father, Mr Ronald Jones, his brother, eight year old Stephen Jones, who was allowed home after treatment for a fractured arm, and eight year old Norman Baker of Felixstowe Drive, Cochrane Park Estate, Newcastle, who had cuts and bruises-and was stated to be satisfactory last night.
