Dorset Family History Society's Monthly Online Zoom Meeting
« on: Monday 23 August 21 21:43 BST (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society is hosting an on-line Zoom talk on Tuesday 21st September 2021 from 7.30pm - 9.15pm (approx.)

ON-LINE SPEAKER is HELEN BAGGOTT with a talk entitled ‘POSTED IN THE PAST’.

Following on from her book of the same name, Helen uses genealogical skills to reveal the true stories behind post cards sent in the early years of the 20th century, and shares these tales with an illustrated talk. This includes a 10 year old servant living in Bath, a soldier who died in the First World War, and even a man who helped prepare Lord Kitchener’s last meal, all of which are connected through postcards.

Helen is a freelance writer and editor from Sturminster Newton, and gives talks to many Societies and Clubs in the area. She has also written articles for many local magazines including Dorset Life.

Zoom sign-in from 7.15 pm (UK time).

Society Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link, and how to donate the voluntary £3 admission, in the E-News sent about 4 days before the meeting.

Those who do not receive E-News, or who are not Society Members, are welcome to join this meeting and should access the talk by emailing liaison@dorsetfhs.org.uk from the week before. An invitation will be sent out with sign in details of how to sign in to Zoom from 7.15pm on the night for a 7.30 start.

The Society would welcome a voluntary contribution of £3 towards the cost via our website.  Thank you.
