These might be worth a few emails to see if you can break down your brick wall.

It might be worth an email to Jerry on this RAOGK list linked below (7th from the bottom)  - offers "Colorado divorce records"

https://raogk.org/lookups/region/colorado/

Would depend where Hazel did marry, in 1920 they lived in Alamosa.

There is a facility on this link to make a Alamosa County Public Records Request for marriage licenses ?

Frank Hartman was in Alamosa by 1911:

1911 Alamosa City Directory
Frank McQ Hartman, Publisher The Alamosa Empire, home at 423 11th (Emma L)

There are no Streeters in that year's directory, and no other Alamosa City Directory at ancestry.

-------------
He might have founded the paper in 1909. And It looks like the family left Alamosa in 1926 for Farmington, NM, where they are on the 1930 census. So that puts Hazel in Alamosa in 1922

From a site covering the history of Colorado newspapers:

Alamosa  Empire  April  5, 1909-July  28,  1926,  Empire  Publishing  Co.  Frank Hartman, a pioneer southwestern Colorado newspaperman, became editor/publisher in 1919. In 1926, the Steamboat Pilot had kind words for the well-liked Hartman: [Hartman's] trenchant pen has commented intelligently and lucidly on  all the public events since Colorado's adolescent days. If a squarer man ever lived it has been kept quiet. Frank Hartman is the salt of the earth...he has the best wishes of the Pilot for peace, prosperity and happiness.

A. W. Quin purchased the Empire from Hartman and merged it into the Alamosa Journal.

-----
and from the Library of Congress site, this paper started in 1926 in Farmington:
Farmington Republican (Farmington, N.M.) 1926-1935
[publisher not identified]

---------
Frank is referred to in that paper here, but it doesn't say for sure that he was the publisher.

I don't know how interested you are in the family, but Googling Frank Hartman along with a few locations turned up these few bits.

mentioned in
1881, N W Ayer & Son's Newspaper Annual

The Dolores News, published every Saturday by Charles A Jones and Frank Hartman, at Rico, Colorado.
'conducted in the interest of the mining industry of Colorado' etc

https://www.google.com/books/edition/N_W_Ayer_Son_s_American_Newspaper_Annual/YNJVAAAAYAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=frank+hartman+farmington+newspaper&pg=PA698&printsec=frontcover

------
From the Library of Congress:
Santa Lulu Independent (Santa Lulu, N.M.) 1888-18??
Dates of Publication
1888-18??
Created / Published
Santa Lulu, N.M. : Frank Hartman

https://www.loc.gov/item/sn95070571/

-----------
and in a work of fiction, no less, though I wonder how much was actually based on fact. This episode centered around a lynching of a Colorado man by men in New Mexico, and one of the parties involved or knowing about it brought a complaint to a paper Frank was working on.

You should be able to get the whole story, Google was generous with how much of this book it let me read.

Colorado's marriages & divorces are available online for the time periods in question. I see nothing for Hazel or a Eugene Streeter.

Marriages: https://history.denverlibrary.org/sites/history/files/COMARR.pdf

Divorce: https://history.denverlibrary.org/sites/history/files/1861-1941_CO_Divorces.pdf

Here's what I'm seeing...some records seem to conflict.

Hazel's father Frank is in the newspaper business. His marriage to Emma is his 2nd.

1910 Census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MKWG-YQT

Hazel gets married to an A R (Arthur) Sadler in  Alamosa in 1915. But the 1920 census has Hazel as single? Also, in the 1930 census, Hazel states her first marriage was when she 28 years old (1923). This conflicts with both the marriage record and news clipping posted below. A. R. Sadler appears to be in the newspaper business, like Hazel's father.

Marriage: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KNQ2-JWX

The family is living in Alamosa.

1920 Census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MX27-2HD

According to a news clipping, in 1926 Frank and the family moved to Farmington, New Mexico to start a 2nd newspaper.

1930 Census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XCMH-L7Y

The Alamosa Courier newspaper is available online from 1911-1926, but is missing years 1922-1925.

Hazel had a half brother Frank Jr (b.1882) from her father's 1st marriage. He died in 1954 and lived most of his life in Idaho.

Wow it is going to take me a while to process all this. I just popped on to Rootschat in the hope of a further response!
I have to go away for a few days and won't be back until the weekend so I will check back in then
Thank you everybody for your time and efforts.
So it is seemingly pointing towards them never having married so why continue to use the name Streeter? Perhaps to legitamise your son. Robert never mentioned his Father in conversations. He was married to my husband's 1C1R.
Again, thank you everyone

Robert's WWII Draft Reg (in New York City) says he was born April 29, 1922, Denver, CO

His Soc Security info says he died 25 Mar 1997, no location on the application.

edit from the SSDI
Last Residence:    11355, Flushing, Queens, New York, USA

The Denver Post has a section every day that they list baby births (BORN). I checked from 29 Apr-5 May and saw nothing for him.

Everyone

My sincere apologies. Circumstances have taken me awy from Family History for some time.

I had noted the marriage to Mr Sadler before but never followed it up  :-[ :-[

I suspect there wasn't a marriage to Eugene but I will see where all the info you have given me leads.

Yet again, I am busy with Family  for the next 10 days but I will start investigating.

Many thanks to everyone for their help
