I am look for anyone who lived on Bakers Row Cardiff on the 1851 census, I have a marriage certificate date on certificate is March 1st 1851 with address down as Bakers Row but can not find this person so thought I would go through Bakers Row myself just in case an error has been made with the name.

Thank you in advance.

If you do a search for Bakers Row Cardiff 1851 it brings this up Mary Bines born 89 Bakers Row, Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales 31st October 1851!  Her parents were John 1828 and Mary 1831, but I can't see them there in the 1851 census. She was still living there in 1861, so you could try looking for neighbours on that who may have been there 10 years earlier. The street before looks like Wharton Street.

The 1851 census for Cardiff St Mary district 4k, has the census for St Mary St, (south), Wharton Lane and Barry Lane.  Barry Lane is south of Wharton St, and the access to Barry Lane from Wharton St. goes through Bakers Row.  But there is no census for Bakers Row. Don't know if this will help.

The Slaters Commercial Directory, 1858-1859 lists a few people in Wharton st but no Bakers Row.

I'm wondering if it used to be called Wharton Place? 8 households on the 1851 census. Atkins, Dewick, Hambilton, Williams, Linter, Vaughn, Jones and Howell.
