Llannerch Lodge/Hall, Trefnant
« on: Friday 27 August 21 12:01 BST (UK) »
My grandfather, EDWARD HANKEY, was listed as a Pantry boy at Llannerch at the time of the 1901 Census aged 14.

Can anyone tell me who the owner of the Hall was at that time? I think he may have been an industrialist of some sought.

Thanks in advance, David

Looking at the 1901 census the head of household of Llannerch Park was William Charles Jones a Cotton Merchant and Manufacturer from Lancashire.  He might have owned the property

Added - His obituary was in Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser 05 October 1909 and says he was an Ex-High Sherriff of Lancashire, JP, died at Llannrech Park and was the head of Jones Bros Ltd, Manchester - Cloth Merchants and Manufacturers with about 1000 workers in this country and various  continental cities

Northwich Guardian 20 November 1909

Details of will and probate of Mr William Charles Jones of Llannerch Park.  He left Llannerch Park to his wife during her widowhood - So presumably he owned the Park
