His sisters children on 1871 census, Applegarth, Dumfries.

William, 13, Jane, 12, Alexander C, 10, Elizabeth, 8, James C-B, 4, & a John, 20, which was from a previous marriage, I think.

Looks like there could be an error on the SP index for William's mother's maiden name. These are his details from Family Search www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XB8Q-R9Q Mother indexed as Carrie there. Other entries show Currie.

Her death entry I think shows on the index at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk as:

Jean Currie or Baxter
Mother's maiden name Allan (daughter Jean was called after it seems)
Age 70 and died in 1869 in Careston, Angus (this is where son William was).

Just had a look at his Will. He had a brother, James Currie Baxter who was executer of his estate. After making several bequests to friends & establishments including his housekeepers, the residue was divided two thirds to his brother & one third divided between his sisters children.

The James Currie Baxter, brother, you mentioned died 16 May 1899. He was a Solicitor in Edinburgh. Not sure he married which if correct would make the only possible descendants to connect to you Videostar through Jean Allan Baxter that Kloumann has been adding details for.

It may also have been sold or given to someone by family at some point. Hard to say at the moment I think.

His brother, James was born 1826, Coupar Angus & died 1899, in Lockerbie. He never married.  His niece's husband, Thomas Craig, was the informant. Interestingly, his death was registered in Edinburgh.
He is buried in Warriston Cemetery, Edinburgh

And the family in 1841 www.freecen.org.uk/search_records/5a1409dff4040b9d6eef5938/jean-baxter-1841-angus-forfarshire-brechin-1834-?locale=en

Possible that Alexander died after the birth of William. Looks like there may only have been these 3 living children from the marriage.

There is a tree on familysearch which has more children than I listed above.

Hi Videostar

It may be easier working back from the names on your mother's side of your family to see if there is any link geographically with any of William's descendants.
