Manchester area 'Rate Books'
« on: Saturday 28 August 21 10:42 BST (UK) »
I have come across the term 'Manchester Rate Books' when researching a family member from 1897.

Can anyone please explain what they represent please?  I wonder if they were on low income perhaps?

Thank you heywood for your response. that clears it up for me. It was just that I had never come across that before.
