hello, as a beginner still getting nowhere with an illegitimate great grandmother! I am wondering if there is anyway I could slooth on her suspected father. All I know that he was scottish jewish and living aound Staffs (Dudley?) UK in 1863/64. My G g grandmother was born inTipton. If he was working would he be registered anywhere? Thanks

if he was a doctor, then he will be listed in the trades directories.

Thanks I will certainly have a try even though I don't have his name!
Family legend has it that he left money in his child's name in chancery but without his name noone has ever been able to check!

You weren't joking this web might qualify for the slowest EVER it is so slow I haven't been able to look anything up, just to open one page takes half an hour! I reckon that money is staying in chancery! Thanks though.
