The Mystery of where was George (Frederick) BUTCHER born in c.1876?

Yes, that 1879 Sheffield death for an Elizabeth BUTCHER in Sheffield much the best fit now.  I assume the family must have moved to Yorkshire between late 1875 and 1879. 
I wonder whether there was some kind of epidemic in Sheffield at the time (cholera, typhus?) with the death of Elizabeth, followed by her husband George in 1885 and two of their daughters in 1887 and 1888.  Son George was probably well out of the way further south.  At least from the 1881 Census onwards in Wandsworth...

Can't help wondering if the Albert Butcher birth Dec.1879 Sheffield, mmn Webb (same time Elizabeth died) was indeed his son - and whatever happened to him?

Yes, I'm pretty sure you're right about that, especially with the WEBB pointer.  They weren't having much joy with the sons born into the family, and maybe with the death of the mother in 1879 it was decided that George Frederick senior couldn't cope with a four year old son as well as those three daughters, who admittedly were quite a bit older and perhaps more able to fend for themselves by then, so he was sent to his retiree farmer grandpa in Wandsworth.
