Stanley Albert's file has been digitised at National Archives of Australia.

Here is the NAA B883 file for the person whose dob is shown as 1 April 1918 on the cemetery transcription image uploaded in the opening post.  It is not the same dob as per the birth cert image uploaded.

https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/ViewImage.aspx?B=6220739.

ADD,  His father was his nominated NOK  at enlistment.

For general interest.
Two signatures.
One from enlistment, one from marriage certificate.

Hi Cando,
Yes I saw that reference and think that I will get the marriage certificate to confirm. In later Electoral Rolls Elsie doesn't appear to be living with William Gordan.
Thanks for your "sleuthing"

Have you considered this as the correct death?
A funeral notice.

Hi Sparrett,
Yes I have both of those obituaries.
Interestingly his birth certificate doesn't match up with his army records DOB.
Apparently he was a prisoner of war in Changi? although again I cannot find any more information.

Hi again,
Yes I noticed the conflicting DOB's.
Not sure what to make of it as he seems to be the same person.
