What am I not getting here. Her death was registered as Mary Jane McCormick, not McGuire. When she married Thomas McGuire, she used Hannah as her surname, not McCormick.

If this is the right Mary Jane, perhaps William was not deceased so Mary Jane married as a single woman?
How is she described on the marriage certificate?
Described as widow.

May be completely on the wrong track here but just in case…

The only William McCormick death in Belfast with similar occupation to sailor that I can see so far is this one-
William McCormick, sailor, d.1893 age 60, married, 17 Garmoyle St.- informant son W McCormick
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1893/05988/4703193.pdf

Belfast Cemetery database search for ‘McCorm’ & Garmoyle brings up a death for 19 year old Kathleen McCormick of 17 Garmoyle St.-
https://dof.belfastcity.gov.uk/burialsearch/BurialRecordDetails.aspx?RecordID=6175.44291
Here’s her death-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1919/05146/4418063.pdf
And birth- Kathleen Brown McCormick- parents Hercules McCormick (fitter) & Melinda McCormick- 59 Earl St.
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/cert_amends/cert_1899/1775458a.pdf

Now, here’s where it might get interesting-
Marriage of Hercules McCormick (fitter) to Melinda McCormick, daughter of William McCormick (Quarter Master)
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1890/10697/5899265.pdf

Melinda McCormick born c1865 Ballywalter, Co.Down-

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/Dock_Ward/Earl_Street/1003171/

McCormicks have roots in Ballywalter- http://rosdavies.com/SURNAMES/Mc/McCormick.htm
William- of Ballywalter; died in Belfast 19 Nov 1893 aged 68; husband of Margaret who died 4 Jul 1870 aged 46; father of James (d. 3 Nov 1861 aged 1y 9m) & John (d. 24 Mar 1871 aged 16) & William (d. in Belfast 12 Dec 1893 aged 27); buried Whitechurch graveyard, Ballywalter
William- son of John McCormick; married Margaret Alexander 5 Sep 1854

Marriage of William McCormick (sailor) & Margaret Alexander-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1854/09477/5434499.pdf
Son William died 1893 Belfast age 27-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1893/05988/4703196.pdf

So, if William McCormick's wife (Margaret Alexander) died in 1870 did he marry again after that (listed as 'married' when he died 1893 and informant was his son William who died shortly after)?

Can't find anything in Valuation Revision Books linking McCormicks or Hannahs to Scotch Row. However, it is in Ballymacarrett and this newspaper article extract is about a Mary Jane Hannah in the area in 1873-
Belfast Telegraph, 4 Dec.1873: DOMESTIC FELICITY. James Baird was brought up in custody, charged with having, on the previous night, assaulted a woman named Mary Jane Hannah. Mr. C. Russell appeared for the prosecution. From the evidence of the woman Hannah, it appeared that the prisoner, who was in rather comfortable circumstances, resided in Ballymacarrett. Witness had lodgings upstairs in the same house[?] …
