Slow and careful comparison of the letter-forms with those in a word you already know (in this case Longhurst) is the key.

For names, always try starting at the end, because the first letter is often a florid capital and can be the hardest to read.

Useful tips. I tried it for William, the last 2 on the page and Robert higher up.
