Elizabeth Conway Dún Laoghaire
« on: Saturday 11 September 21 11:20 BST (UK) »
My grandfather Michael Jordan was reared (following the death of his parents) by his uncle Richard Conway(died 4/02/1938) for some years at Mulgrave St in Dún Laoghaire. I have found a bit about Richard and his brother William (died 16/9/1910) who was sometimes listed as a blacksmith and sometimes as a bootmaker. I found their burial place in Deansgrange Cemetery West plot J1/34. Also buried in that plot is Richard's sister Elizabeth who died 19/01/1930. For the life of me I cannot find her death details. I assume they all lived together at DúnLaoghaire. I have looked at Irishgenealogy.ie any other hints please??

Thank you so much rosie17.That is the correct person. They lived for many years at 45 Mulgrave St. I wonder would that mean that she died in London? The 11/1 seems such a trivial amount nowadays to bother putting it in probate. I will keep looking.

The probate abstract doesn’t record where a person died. All you can infer from the “London” is that she had some property in England (an insurance policy, or an investment, for example), and so probate had to be obtained there, and was granted in London. The probate file may tell you what it was. She died intestate, so there won’t be a will.

It's quite possible Elizabeth Conway died elsewhere

Thank you Elwyn and rosie 17 for your replies. I will keep snooping. I went to visit their grave which needs some work and looking at Elizabeth's name I felt I had to investigate just how she died.

Thank you Kiltaglassan for this info. I'll get checking. That is the family in the 1901census.
