Edmund West, 1810; what's his occupation?

This is from a will in Norfolk, 1810.

He is clearly an "Atchellor", the writing is perfectly easy to read.

Except I can't find such an occupation. Can anyone help?

But I'd expect the learned scribe to know that word, and spell it "conventionally"

refers to formerly an atchellor's shop and bunching house (sic; the latter was related to rope making) so bugbear's Hatcheller (a flax or hemp dresser) would fit.

Whatever the spelling, a worker with flax or hemp fibre seems to be a reasonable explanation.  Perhaps it was a Norfolk term as I've not found it elsewhere?

As you say Atchellor is what is written, but think Hatcheller a very good possible.

Just in case you were not aware National Archives holds this, and is free to down load at present.
They have transcribed the occupation as Per will.
