DANIEL STOREY, Capecastle, Ballycastle
« on: Saturday 11 September 21 22:38 BST (UK) »
I am trying to locate the grave of teenage Capecastle soldier DANIEL STOREY who died at home on 17 May 1919 after service with the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. Remarkably, he was still 3 months short of his 17th birthday.
Daniel was the son of Alexander and Elizabeth Storey (nee Blair); they had married in Drumtullagh Church of Ireland on 22 May 1882. Daniel, born on 16 Aug 1902 was the youngest of their nine children; the others were Alexander, William, John, Hugh, Nathaniel, Margaret, Elizabeth and Annie.
Annie married Hugh McCaw in Ramoan Presbyterian Church on 16 July 1917.
Daniel was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth (1912), his sister Margaret (1915) and his father Alexander (1918).
The Storey family were Presbyterian and well established at Capecastle.
I would be grateful for any information as to where Daniel Storey is buried: I would expect that his parents and sister Margaret are buried at the same location.
Thank you.

Have you contacted the local council, Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council? There are two council-maintained graveyards in the Ballycastle area.
Ramoan, Novally Road and Bonamargy, Cushendall Road. Contact details at the bottom of this link.

Maybe he was buried in a Presbyterian church graveyard?

Edited to Add:
Maybe Ramoan Presbyterian Church graveyard.

Thank you, Kiltaglassan, I'm on it.

You're very welcome  ;D

Coleraine B.C. now part of CC&GBC were very helpful when dealing with my query a few years ago for burials in Portstewart and Portrush. Hope you have the same sort of luck.  :D

Council maintains the graveyards at Ramoan and Bonamargy but unfortunately doesn't hold any burial records.

You also need to consider Church of Ireland graveyards.
