Need help deciphering 1699 Scottish Death Cert

Thomas Grib died in Edinburgh 27.10.1699.  Any help what is written on the entry would be greatly appreciated.

I believe it transcribes as:

...wifer* por warnt wast and kirk

* This could be:  wiser

I don't have a clue what it means but other members have expertise in Scots language and customs so with luck someone will be along to explain.

Yes, I think it looks more like 'Wast end kirk" HD.

The entry above also says 'poor warnt'.
Are there lots of entries on this page that say this Bentley?
It may help to decide what it might mean.
Perhaps you could post a slightly larger clip for comparison.

The Dictionary of the Scots Language gives 'warnt' as a variation of ''warrant'

= Thomas Gribb, weaver, (by a) poor warrant, (buried at the) west end (of the) kirk.

The date may be that of burial  rather than death.

Thomas, a weaver, was made a burgess of Edinburgh on 2nd January 1684, as having been apprenticed to the late James Lawson, himself a weaver and burgess.
