CaroleW  reply #11 - Wills in Scotland are only available online up to 1925.

Regarding the 1943 Marriage of Archibald Cameron to Annie Watt. We can discount this one too as this Annie Watt was only 25 and his housekeeper.

Back to the drawing board unfortunately.

The death in 1938, Archibald is a fur warehouseman married to Margaret McGregor. Addr 52 Leicester Ave. His son was informant, Jack M Robinson

Hello

Thanks for confirming.  That makes him the same man as the 1906 and 1913 marriages, as the latter one is the marriage of Archibald and Margaret.

I couldn't see a corresponding death for Margaret, but was only able to take a quick look.

Best wishes

I do appreciate all the effort that so many of you have put in to try to solve my problem.

I wonder - on the 17th of September 1893 an ARCHIBALD WALTER ROBINSON was born in Longside, Aberdeenshire to a Walter John Robinson who married Rosa White 15 November 1892 at Wickwar, Gloucestershire, England.  Could this be the man who was the husband of Jane Ann ???

I believe I have found Archibald (middle name Walter) Robinson in the 1911 census at Wickwar, Gloucestershire, aged 17 and born in Longside, Aberdeenshire.  His mother, as detailed in his birth certificate, was Rosa (in 1911 a widow).

Maybe this will help all who are trying to help find Archibald's marriage?

Hello Jock,

I have looked further at the Archibald Walter Robinson born in Longside, Aberdeenshire in 1893.
He is listed in the 1939 England & Wales Register as Living at Bainwood House, Gloucester, Private Means and Single.
It looks like he died on 28/1/1980 aged 88 Mendip, Somerset. This would rule him out as being the husband of Jane Ann Watt.

Yes Dowdstree, I agree.  My two difficulties are in identifying the birth of Archibald as well as his marriage to Jane Ann Watt.

Someone suggested that maybe she had been married earlier and I have looked for one without success.

I am beginning to think that her brother Philip Dodridge Watt (who died a few years after Jane Ann in the same address) was in error when he was the informant of his sister's death?

I am reluctant to give up, but nevertheless thank you for your efforts on my behalf.

I don't expect this will help but note that the only 2 names on the Forgue gravestone (404) are Jane Ann Robinson Watt and Philip D Watt. No mention of Jane's husband who is believed to have pre-deceased her. Their parents are acknowledged on Stone 386, and Stones 387-389 note other Watt burials.
