Sarah Ann Field or Fields
« on: Saturday 18 September 21 15:52 BST (UK) »
Hi All
Sarah Ann Field or Fields was born in the April quarter of 1853 in Southam District.
The 1861 census gives her birthplace as Northend but she isn't with her parents.  She is a border living with John and Sarah Gascoigne in Warwick. There is  a William Fields age 17 also born in Northend, a boarder.
Her marriage to William Payne in 1876 Leamington names her father as John Field.  I am struggling to find out who he married and whether their were any other children.
            Any help will be appreciated.
                  Carol

The GRO Birth Index lists no mothers maiden name so presumably her mother was unmarried

FIELDS, SARAH  ANN      -     Mother's Maiden Surname:
GRO Ref: 1853  J Qrtr SOUTHAM  Volume 06D  Page 511

I notice in 1861 Sarah Ann was a boarder with a William Fields age 17 also born at Northend.   Have you found him in 1851??  Could he be a brother?  Added or uncle??

There is a baptism for a Sarah Field in 1819 in Burton Dassett with parents James and Phoebe Field  (labourer) - residence Northend that would fit with the wife Ambley found and the couple also had a daughter Mary Ann Field in 1824 that could be William and sister Sarah's mother

Possible Maryann Field in 1861 age 34 working in as a house servant at Leamington Spa

In 1874 there is a marriage online that might well be Mary Ann
18 May 1874 at Leamington Priors, All Saints, Warwickshire

Henry Wilkins Widower, Labourer of Tower Street Father Joshua Wilkins, Cordwainer
Mary Field Spinster of Waterloo Place. Father James Field, Labourer.
Both of FullAge - Witness: John Field

And the couple I think in 1881 living at Tower St Leamington Priors
Mary Wilkins 55 B North End, Warwickshire
Henry Wilkins 53 Labourer  b Tottenham, London
 Harriett Wilkins Age 12
