Looking for parents for Anne Clubb
« on: Monday 20 September 21 21:02 BST (UK) »
Anne Clubb married Thomas Griffiths 3 Dec 1814 both of the parish.
They both show up in the 1841 census at Byrn, Flint, Holywell Flintshire. Anne's birth year is given as 1782 born Flintshire. I cannot find a baptism record for Anne. Thomas and Anne's first son was named John, second son Thomas and third son named Robert. I found a John Clubb bap. 20 July 1777 Flint to Peter Clubb and Elizabeth. Also a John Clubb married Anne Roberts 17 May 1805 Flint. Witness were John Lloyd and Margaret Clubb. There were Clubb family in the Worthenbury area as well and Whitford. I appreciate any help offered to sort this out.
Thanks

Is she shown as a spinster on the 1814 marriage?  She would have been around 32 when she married Thomas

Did she die before the 1851 census?  EDIT - see reply below

on the other hand
baptism 17 July 1828 Robert born 11 July son of Thomas Griffiths, collier, & Anne of Flint Common. To the left hand of the entry is written the name Clubb. Is the clerk noting the mother's maiden name?

Baptism to same parents 30 April 1815 Dorothy daughter of Thomas Griffiths, collier, and Anne of Flint Common. Again Clubb noted to left of entry and at top of page is noted mother's maiden name.
So no first marriage for her.

Not finding a baptism as yet.

Hi IrishJig

My great-great grandfather Thomas Thomas, of Caernarfon. married an Anne Clubb in the early 1800s.  She was from a Chester family. Unusual name, Clubb, I thought there may be a link. But perhaps not.
