Army record delay
« on: Friday 24 September 21 09:37 BST (UK) »
Hi all, I have been trying to get my grandads WW2 Army records for 1 1/2 years now and am getting no response. Form and cheque sent in Apr 2020 and again in March this year.

I know there is/was a delay but this is a long time. HAs anyone else been waiting this long, Should I send a third form and cheque to them?

Should I send a third form and cheque to them?

I would not send a further application as I am sure that eventually they will get to your other requests and ask you for a replacement cheque if necessary.

There was always a delay on these records as priority was given to those who want their own records or those of their late spouse. Unfortunately covid has just increased the wait and I suspect they have also been inundated with applications from those of us who have been doing family history while 'locked down'

I sent a request for my late Great-Uncle's service records in November 2020, cheque cashed December 2020 and records arrived last week, so I can testify the process is working albeit slowly

Sent in a request for my Dad's Service Record in august 2020. No response yet.

This post is a natural hand made product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in no way are to be considered flaws. Unfortunately my preferred method of writing (Parker Quink on Basildon Bond) cannot be used.

As it happens the records came through on Friday. That's from the request I put in in March last year.

Well done, Aerodynamik  :)

That's about the same length of time for mine, a first cousin once removed.......received after 17 months.
