Does this mean his body was recovered and then cremated , then ashes buried at the second cemetery?

It's confusing. The British transcription of the Japanese record says that he was cremated; the CWGC record indicates that his remains were recovered from Tambaya Cemetery 9 and reinterred at Thanbyuzayat in 1946.

Have you got the information that he attested for the Royal Artillery as a Territorial in 1933 and was transferred to the Gordon Highlanders in January 1937?
