Rose Anne Lynch
« on: Saturday 25 September 21 16:15 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am trying to find out details on Rose Anne Lynch, my 2nd great-grandmother.

The details I have are:
Rose Anne Lynch born on 6 April 1868 in Kilmacrennan
Her parents are Mary McCabe and James Lynch

I then don't have anything for her until she marries in Lancashire, Lancashire, in December 1884 when she was 16 years old to William Henry Smith.

She then raises two girls, which I've posted years ago on that mystery... still unsolved
Samson - Kent
Chater - London Area
Bultitude - London & Norfolk
Pounder / Smith / Lynch - Manchester & Salford & Ireland
Richards - Bridgend / Wales
Watkins - Glamorgan / Wales

Here is her birth

Do you have her marriage details? Do the witness names help - relatives perhaps?

She was married in Manchester 1884 , Registry office or Registrar attended.

Is this her in 1891?

3231/25

William Smith 29yrs Head
Rose Ann Smith   22 yrs Wife b Dublin
John James Smith 1yr Son

Do you have her elsewhere showing Donegal as her birthplace?

In 1901 3768 /123/17

There is a Willm and Rose Smith (born 1868, Ireland) with nieces Florence 13 yrs and Rose, 10yrs.
They are living in Cheetham and the girls b Salford.
Is this your family?

GRO has similar births but the mother’s name is Cain.

What conclusions did you come to in your earlier query?

*I have amended this post- I wrote daughters instead of nieces.

Hi, thankyou for the replies.

In 1901 They were living at 31, Larch Street, Manchester, Lancashire, England.

I've never been able to work out who really were the parents of the two girls

I know Rose Anne Lynch married William Henry Smith in 1884, but I have nothing on her before that.

I've half given up on the two sisters mystery!

With regard to the possible mother, Cain, there is a baptism for Rose Ann at Salford Cathedral with parents John Smith and Mary Ann (formerly Cain). The address is 4 Duke Street, Greengate in 1891.
