I saw that tree, Diddy. Checked on SP - www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk - and the only death showing in Kincardine with a birth year of 1865 +/- 5yrs was for a 68 yr old in Banchory Ternan in 1928. Nothing in Laurencekirk.

The use of middle names always helps  ;)

This looks to be one of the son's death entry, William Sidney Robertsn www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6ZSR-2SLX As you can see, he showed as having been born in London in 1894. There is a correponding entry for him in both the birth register (Islington 1b/181) and a christening.

Worst writing on the page of the parish register. Father's occupation? Could it be Grocer? He apprenticed as a grocer as this became his father's job in later years in Laurencekirk. Snip below:

Possible marriage for son Douglas Lawrence Robertson www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q5XR-FDPZ

And for third son, Stanley Arthur Robertson, also a likely marriage www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:8NTM-JNN2

But the next part I am stuck on is finding where a Basil Scott Robertson born 9th April 1921 in Transvaal Johannesburg fits into the tree.

Not seeing anything so far to help with Basil. I have though found another son for Wiliam and Ellen. He died in 1942, the reason he did not show on parents' probate documents which were after this year.

www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QPHC-CF7V

Why do you think that Basil Scott Robertson born 9th April 1921 connects to your line? Are you directly connected to the Robertson family we have been looking at here?
