I think the family must have had two daughters named Susanna or Susan, because on 04 Feb 1845 a Susan MANSEL born in 1822 was buried in Kemble, Wiltshire.

In the 1841 census, there are TWO Susan Mansells living in Kemble.

1. Susanna MANSEL (20), living with her parents William (50) and Alice (45), along with two siblings, Emma (12) and Jacob (10). [HO107 1181 18 13 20]

2 Susanna MANSELL (14) living with the Reynolds family. [HO107 1181 18 12 19]

On FindMyPast they are on opposite sides of the same image.

I am not sure which one is the mother of Susan SINGLETON, as her age is not consistent in the records. 26 in 1851, 33 in 1861 and 41 in 1871.

Whilst I have found a record of her second marriage to Thomas Woolley, I cannot find one of her first marriage to Edward Singleton.

Only thing I can suggest is obtain the death cert for the 1845 death, to see if informant info helps. Or marriage to Thomas Woolley to see if father is named.

The 14yr old Susannah in 1841 was the illegitimate daughter of Elizabeth Mansell, baptized 1827 (Freereg).  Elizabeth (spinster) married John Reynolds (widower) in 1837  (Freereg).

There is a possibility the families are connected?  Also the Susannah who was with Mr Singleton, (I have been unable to locate Marriage) had a son William and dau Maria.

Not conclusive but William & Alice baptised a child Maria in 1823.

Good luck
