Coincidence -

I was about to say that I don't have any kin from Stratford and I've just found the birth reg of a 3rd cousin, once removed who was born there.

Aw sorry that you missed out Jool, I didn't expect it to be found so quickly  ::) Thanks for the link, some great postcards on there. I only paid 50p each for this one and the other one when we were on holiday in the caravan, we have only been able to take it out twice this year as we have moved house. I have missed my rummaging round the antique and junk shops  ::)
I will have to have to look through my postcard albums to see if there are any more Unknown houses.

Re Ruskie's mention of the chimneys.

They are a feature of many Tudor houses.

Wow....I didn't know there were so many different styles of decorative chimney stacks. Thanks for the link Gadget  :D

Well found Spidermonkey!  ;D I had my doubts that this would be found - how wrong I was.

Yes, I love the Tudor chimneys, (they are works of art) and see that these at Alveston Manor are large but they looked odd from that angle in Carol’s postcard. After commenting I googled “large chimneys” and there are some whoppers.  :)

It pleases me greatly that the building continues to be loved and cared for. Beautiful.

Thanks all - I confess that I only identified it because I have stayed there (ages ago, for an exam board standardisation meeting). Normally I never have a clue!!!!!!
