I just shared this on a post but it occurred to me that it might be of interest to everybody:

It gives useful information about how likely it is that there'll be a DNA match with cousins of various degrees, and further down the average number of such cousins that an individual might expect to have. They aren't sure if this info is from England & Wales or the whole UK, so caveats, and there can be large deviations from any average.

I have 46 second cousins (so far) so double the average, and have nearly 175 third cousins in just one of eight branches, so averages can vary wildly. But on another branch I have no 2nd cousins at all, that great-grandmother was a sole surviving sibling. So very variable.
